About Us
Hi, we’re Sam and Kara, parents of four and the co-founders of Pearly Bites. The idea for our company came from our own experience as parents struggling with the daily battle of brushing our toddlers’ teeth.
Kara, motivated by what she calls “mum guilt,” knew there had to be a better solution. Together, we developed Pearly Bites — a product that not only makes oral care easier for families, but also creates positive long-term impacts for children’s health, confidence, and the environment.
As a family-run, self-funded venture, we are passionate about making a real difference. In the next five years, our goal is to build partnerships with the NHS, expand internationally, and make Pearly Bites accessible to children everywhere — including those who otherwise wouldn’t have access to effective oral care.
We also hope to inspire and support other young innovators on their journey, just as we would have valued guidance in ours. Pearly Bites is more than a product; it’s a mission to protect smiles, reduce waste, and help shape a healthier future.
Why Our Product
Pearly Bites was born out of a simple challenge every parent knows well — getting children to brush their teeth. Traditional toothpaste isn’t always easy for young kids to use, and the results are clear: in the UK alone, the NHS spends £3.4 billion annually on dental care, with 23% of five-year-olds already showing signs of tooth decay.
Pearly Bites tablets are designed as a safe, natural, and eco-friendly alternative to toothpaste. They dissolve in seconds, removing the risk of choking and making oral care simpler and more reassuring for parents. Our formula supports healthy teeth and gums without creating plastic waste, and it doesn’t require water — opening up potential use in both developed and developing countries where water preservation is critical.
The product is currently in its final prototyping stage, with branding, website, and packaging underway. Pearly Bites is committed to reducing childhood tooth decay while also addressing global sustainability challenges.
